Holy Week and Easter is one of the most dramatic periods in the Church’s calendar. Once again, pandemic restrictions mean that our service pattern is somewhat different from usual, however we have on offer a range of imaginative services covering a range of styles. We hope that you will be able to join us at some point, either in church or digitally.

Palm Sunday, 28th March

Eucharist for Palm Sunday – 9.30 am – live in St Mary’s and YouTube.
The focus for this service is the events of that first “Palm Sunday,” Jesus’ triumphal entry into Jerusalem, greeted by crowds of people to welcome him. We can accommodate a small congregation in church (booking required) or you can watch online. Please collect a palm cross from St Mary’s (from Thursday 25th onwards) it will be blessed during the service.

Tenebrae – 7.00 pm live on Zoom
A service of shadows, a Eucharist followed by readings as we participate in the events that centred on Jesus’ Last Supper with his disciples. We sit in our homes but journey spiritually to an Upper Room in Jerusalem some 2000 years ago. There we will join with Jesus Christ in a spiritual Eucharist, and hear the story of his betrayal and arrest. Silent reflection is very important to this service. Please have a candle with you for the service.
