Choral Evensong is one of the very special services of the Church of England; you’ll find it taking place in the late afternoon on most days in cathedrals, and college chapels around the country. At St Mary’s we’re lucky to have a choir that is able to sing it on a regular basis in our own church, and Out & About around the Deanery and beyond.

Evensong in St Mary’s 2025

You’ll find St Mary’s Choir singing Choral Evensong in Ross at 6 pm for most of the year on the second and fourth sundays of the month. It’s worth checking the events diary or newsletter before joining us.

Out & About for Evensong

From July the choir is out and about around the south of the county, and beyond. Why not ome along and enjoy the perfect combination of glorious English Church Music with fabulous English Church Architecture, in a different place.

Over the summer months we are available to any church that chooses to book us to come and sing choral evensong. We’re full up for 2025, but please get in touch if you’d like the choir to visit your church in 2026.

  • Many churches invite us for a special occasion (patronal festival, a dedication service, local festival, etc) but we’re just as happy to come and sing on any normal Sunday.
  • We’re entirely flexible on date and time (if we’re not already booked) – please try us.
  • We’re very happy to arrange the whole service and just turn up to sing it (with a rehearsal before it, on the day.
  • We’re equally happy for you to take a hand in shaping the service.
  • We can cope with whatever you have in terms of accompanying instrument (or bring our own), or to sing an unaccompanied service
  • The more creative the opportunity, the more we like it!
  • Please contact us if you’d like to arrange a service.
