Bell ringing – The eight bells of St Mary’s are rung each Sunday before the 09:30 service. They also ring for weddings and special occasions. Practice night is Tuesday, come to the tower if you are interested in finding out more. The entrance is via the small door at the back of the church. Contact Roman Sadowski for more information.

Bible Study Groups – Most take place in homes, fortnightly on Monday evenings but there is an afternoon group meeting in St Mary’s on Tuesdays. Group sizes are around ten and often different members will lead a session but nobody is obliged to lead. The evening will usually include some refreshment and conclude with prayer for particular matters on our hearts.

We generally use commercially available study courses which in recent years have included Mark’s gospel, Paul’s letters to the Galatians, Philippians and Timothy, Daniel and some of the Minor Prophets, the Ten Commandments, the Lord’s Prayer and the Sermon on the Mount.

The relaxed atmosphere of these study groups encourages all to have a better understanding of the relevance of God’s word in our daily lives. Members find it helpful to be able to discuss frankly, to air thoughts openly, to disagree honestly, to be provocative occasionally, but above all to be oneself without having to act a part.

Members support the work of the Bible Society with regular contributions. If you would like to join a group, please contact the Benefice Administrator.

The Prayer Chain is a group of people drawn from our congregations who undertake to pray for all needs that are drawn to their attention. This is done in complete confidence. If you’d like them to pray on your behalf or for a loved one (please make sure you have discussed this with them first) please contact the team coordinator.

Church Welcome is a team of people who staff the church on a rota basis to greet visitors. We try to keep the church open each day so that it can be used for private prayer and to receive visitors. New volunteers are always welcome to join our welcome team. Contact the organiser for more information.

Flicks in the Sticks shows films in St Mary’s Hall throughout the year. See their website for films coming soon.
