There is no longer any need to pre-book for services at St Mary’s, you can, however, still participate online if you wish and we plan to continue with (in deed improve) live streaming of services.

Sundays at St Mary’s

8 am – Said Communion

This service is said, no hymns, no fuss and lasts about 40 minutes. It alternates between the traditional language of the 1662 Book of Common Prayer and Common Worship. The service has a small and loyal congregation made up of people who like to be up and about early! All are welcome. The service is also live streamed on Facebook

9.30 am – Sung Eucharist

The main service at St Mary’s each week. People of all ages (from less than a year to more than 100) come to this service and there is always a strong community feel. It’s also live streamed on YouTube. Music of a high standard is provided (live) by St Mary’s choir. (The monthly music list can be found here).

Choral Evensong – Second and Fourth Sundays of the month – 6 pm

A perfect end to the weekend, the service is sung by our choir, there are three hymns for you to join in with if you wish but you may prefer to sit and let it all happen. This is a form of service that has been used almost unchanged since 1549 and with its real foundations many centuries before that. It is also a form of service that will be taking place in cathedrals and larger parish churches throughout the world. Beyond time and space!

Come as You Are – Fourth Sunday of the month – 4 pm

Come As You Are is a relaxed, contemporary service which takes place once a month, there is no set order of service and the music is contemporary. The service is live streamed on Facebook.
