We are constantly praying for Ukraine. If you have specific prayer request for Ukraine please tell us about them here or leave them on one of the prayer cards on the prayer desk in St Mary’s.

The main collection point in Ross for donations of humanitarian goods is at KTS Craft Warehouse at the bottom of Trenchard Street (see below). The Association of Ukrainian Woman is also receiving donations at Ross swimming pool, Ross-On-Wye, HR9 7DB.

Food is urgently required now. Especially lentils, pasta, rice (not the microwavable pouches), spaghetti, pasta, tinned meatballs hotdogs and pot noodles.). Donations can be taken directly to Katie in Trenchard Street, handed in to the church office in Church Street, or brought to any church services at St Mary’s, Ross or Walford.

As well as the organisations mentioned on this page, financial donations are particularly encouraged to the
Disaster Emergency Committee.

The Ross Refugee Support Group website is a source of support for Ukrainians already living in Ross.

St Mary’s has raised an amazing amount for Ukraine. There is still more to add but so far:

  • Organ Recital £964,
  • Coffee Morning in March £229
  • Plant Sale organised by Meryl Bedford £800
  • By donation £300
  • Baby Lifeline (Leaf youth group) £103

Hereford Diocese has also provided the names of the following Christian organisations working in or around Ukraine that you could consider making a financial donation to:

  • Operation Mobilisation (OM)
  • Ukraine Christian Ministries
  • Care & Relief for the Young (CRY)
  • Ukraine Christian Partnership
  • Slavic Gospel Association (SGA)

Additionally you may find the following useful:

Almighty God we pray for the situation in Ukraine.
We pray for those who live in fear, that you may grant them peace.
We pray that the voices for discernment and peaceful solutions may prosper.
Lord, we ask that you raise up peacemakers on all sides, that war and violence might be averted.
Give diplomats wisdom, understanding and build trust.
We ask for the church in the nations involved, may they be salt and light in a dark situation.
Lord we lift this dangerous situation to you.
May your kingdom come.

Amen.

Loving God, we pray for the people of Ukraine,
for all those suffering or afraid,
that you will be close to them and protect them.
We pray for world leaders, for compassion, strength and wisdom to guide their choices.
We pray for the world,

that in this moment of crisis,
we may reach out in solidarity to our brothers and sisters in need.
May we walk in your ways so that peace and justice become a reality for the people of Ukraine
and for all the world.

Amen.
