What’s been going on in the churchyard lately?

12th July – Benn Jamieson is repairing the wall alongside the path to Ashfield Park
7th July – New bench installed in the closed churchyard in memory of Celia Glover. Thanks to Alan Sonn for installing it.
7th July – Closed Churchyard mowed by Ross Town Council’s contractors
5th July – Plans drawn up and permission given for the replacement of the composting area.

3rd July – The first meeting of the Churchyard Management Group – we made great progress and agreed to look again at how different areas of the managed. A start made on a Churchyard Management Plan.
3rd July – The Probation Service mowed the Garden of Remembrance and strimmed half of area C. Looking much better!
Saturday 1st July – Twelve members of our growing Churchyard Angels team came and worked hard from 9.30 to Noon. We managed to strim all of area A, some of B and the area containing children’s graves by the Prospect. Next session is the first Saturday in August (6th). Please consider joining them.
28th June – Local Historian Heather Hurley led the second of her talks entitled “Tales from the Tombs” – a walk around the churchyard, looking at the graves and lives of some notable Ross residents from the past.
27th & 28th June – John cleared all the weeds from the wall along the path to Ashfield Park.
