Rector – The Revd Prebendary Kelvin Price
Kelvin has recently come to us from the north of the diocese where he has been Rector of the Ludlow Benefice. We are delighted to have him. As Rector, Kelvin is in overall charge of all that goes on in The Ross Parishes and heads up the ministry team.

The Revd Prebendary Caroline Pascoe – Associate Priest
Caroline’s area of expertise lies in innovative projects, she used to work as Lay Development Officer for the Diocese of Hereford. Caroline plays a very large part in work with children and families and was hugely involved in the exciting plans to appoint a Life Link Chaplain, she takes services regularly in our churches, especially those with an “all age” feel.

Part time Priest (House for Duty) – Vacancy
We’re hoping to recruit an ordained person to work 2.5 days + Sundays to be attached to Walford Parish but to work across the Ross Parishes in some areas. Could this be you? Your home would be Walford Vicarage, or if you have your own accommodation there could be financial remuneration for your work instead. More detail here.

Life Link Chaplain – Emily Goy

This is an exciting new role funded jointly by The Ross Parishes and Hereford Diocese. Emily spends a good deal of her time at John Kyrle High School, working alongside students. The rest of her time is spent in the parishes. Her role is to build bridges between young people of secondary school age, their families and our churches.

The Revd Colin Leggate – Assistant Priest (PtO)

Some of Colin’s time is taken up with the role of Chaplain to Commerce and Industry. He is the face that may of the businesses in the town would recognise most of all. He takes services regularly across the Benefice and has an amazing knack of being ready, willing and able to fill most gaps that arise. He retired from full-time ministry in Bristol several years ago; since then his feet haven’t touched the ground!

The Revd Professor David Thomas – Assistant Priest (PtO)
David is a retired university professor. With ministerial experience in Liverpool, Cambridge and Blackburn, he taught at the University of Birmingham for many years, specialising in the study of Islam and Christian-Muslim relations. He now lives in Christchurch near the Herefordshire border, where he continues to pursue academic interests. He preaches and officiates regularly at services throughout the benefice.

The Very Revd Dr John Davies – Assistant Priest (PtO)
John has retired from full time ministry, he says: “I look back on time as a curate, a parish priest (twice), a college chaplain and lecturer, a director of ordinands and in cathedral ministry. And without any doubt the very best times were in parishes. That’s where the human connections went deepest; and frankly that is also where the future of the church will be made or lost.” For those reasons he works voluntarily as a part of our ministry team.

Canon Freda Davies – Licensed Reader – Bereavement Ministry (PtO)
Freda is a licensed reader and takes services In all our churches. She has responsibility for some areas of the work that goes on within it. She works hard on prayer activities and within our bereavement ministry and also has a number of roles across the diocese. St Mary’s is a Bereavement Friendly Church

Dr Derek Glover – Licensed Reader – Residential Care Homes (PtO)
Derek is a retired headteacher and university professor. He is a licensed reader, a non ordained person who takes services in all our churches. Derek has been a part of the team for many decades. He heads up our support for, and work with, residential care homes, in particular, West Bank. St Mary’s is a Dementia Friendly Church

Judith Wiggins – Safeguarding

It is important that everyone who has any encounter with the Ross Parishes finds that wholesome and fulfilling and we take safeguarding very seriously. Judith has a very important role. Judith’s is a voluntary role which she, and we take very seriously. She has a wealth of experience in the legal world.

Mark Sanderson BEM – Director of Music and Church Warden at St Mary’s
Mark is responsible for the music in our services at St Mary’s. He plans music and musical events, rehearses and conducts our choirs and plays for services from time to time. He also manages the digital presence for all the parishes and is one of St Mary’s Church Wardens.

Adrian Taylor – Organist, St Mary’s
Adrian plays the organ for most services at St Mary’s, he oversees the care of the organ and works closely with the choir. Beyond St Mary’s Adrian is the conductor of Ross-on-Wye Choral Society.
