We are soon to invest a considerable amount of money into a new sound system in St Mary’s. We have a trial of speakers (the vital bit) on Tuesday 7th June at 3pm. If you’ve ever complained that you can’t hear properly in church we want your views on the next bit of tech. Please come along for a cup of tea.

Yesterday we said goodbye to Canon Chris Blanchard from The Ross Parishes ministry team in a service at Walford Church. Here are some pictures of the occasion.
An evening of local history, stories from St Mary’s churchyard.
We’ll begin the evening in church with a presentation from Heather, over a glass or two of wine to hear about the development of the churchyard and its surrounding buildings and who is buried in it. After that, weather permitting, we’ll wander out for one of Heather’s guided walks (a short one) to see it all in context.
This event has been organised by the Ecochurch group.
A request from the KTS Crafts Warehouse (Trenchard Street), from a lady who goes into Ukraine and often near the front. They need socks and sanitary towels for the soldiers. The soldiers put sanitary towels in their boots to absorb moisture.
Men, please bring in a pair of socks, a pair from their own sock drawer would be perfect (you don’t have to knit them and they don’t need to be blue and yellow!).
Can we ask all women to bring in a packet of sanitary towels each. If everyone can do this that would be a fantastic help.
Our organ recital on Saturday evening given by Suzy StClair raised just over £1000. The money has been divided between Katie’s tremendous efforts from her premises on Trenchard Street, and the Bridge Charity, based in Poland who are supporting refugee efforts in Ukraine.
Thanks to everyone who came, and especially to Suzy for a tremendous evening.
We are delighted to welcome Suzy StClair to St Mary’s for her recital on Saturday. All tickets sales will go directly to Ukraine charities. Please consider coming along.
Suzy took up the organ at the age of 10 as a church organist, she has an ARCM diploma in organ performance from the Royal College of Music. Suzy has spent most of her life outside the UK and, until recently, was organist at a church in Ukraine.
